hi guys. im running around like a chicken with it's head cut off trying to find some arrows before season starts (october first here) unfortunatly i cant learn how to make cane arrows in 20 days, so i got to buy some. do yall have any experience with three rivers archery wooden arrows? i would prefer them to be my own hand made one's but i dont have time. i dont like manufactured arrows, but i gotta do it this year. thanks for yall's help.

If you are talking about cedar arrows 3Rivers makes excellent arrows, they tend to be slightly pricey for me with postage to the West Coast but have always been well made for me
-
yeah thats what i was talkin bout. thanks.

Last year I shot carbon arrows and target shooting missed every third shot. This year Ive been shootind # rivers arrows and have missed once in three weeks. Joel

3 Rivers does not weight match their arrows. I had a dozen from a few years ago, and there was 70+ grains difference from the lightest to the heaviest in that one dozen. These were their pre-made "hunter" arrows.
Buy good quality shafts from a reputable vendor that hand matches for weight and spine. Get a grain scale and a spine tester as well and make your own. That way you are in control of the process from start to finish. A good matched set of wood arrows is hard to beat, but a lot of the bad press given wood arrows in the last 5 -10 years comes from the lack of quality shafts and arrows that are out there and available. Going with machine matched spine only, and no matching based on weight, will not result in a quality shaft.
-
I've used 3 Rivers arrows. Never had a problem with them.
-
yeah im gunna really start putting effort in to learning to make arras over the summer.
-
you better hurry, Summer will be over in a few weeks! ;D
When I was making cedar arrows I always bought shafts from 3Rivers. They are a great bunch of folks there and their service is excellent.
-
Thanx for the information Titan, makes a lot of sense
-
yeah i know it. im talkin bout next summer. ;D

Doesn't take too long to make a good functional arrow, making one that's a work of art-now that's another story:)

yes, makeing one shoudnt be that bad, but makeing a good set for hunting that are spine and weight matched.
