This stave gave me fits but is my all time favorite. Had a huge milk snake skin with a hole in the middle. Pat B's craft show copperhead bow inspired me to split it and wrap the ends - thanks for the advice Pat, amd those who helped with brace advice - turned out after further shoot in to be about equal.
60" NTN, 47# @27" Have to redo the handle - don't like the "Middle only" like I thought I would.

Looks great! I'd swear that was a northern water snake though ???

That is what I was thinking Shannon.Would like to see a close up of the skins.
I like the bow alot, utilizing short skins is always a plus.nice job.

i got one nice sized skin and a few that are like a foot long. the big one was....oh so ironicly.....killed by a fish arrow through the top of the head from a bridge.
the cop that was about to run us off decided it wasnt really that important when i pulled a 4 foot cotonmouth up onto the bridge beside him. ::)

Nice recurve... ;D That is an eastern milk - looks a lot like a watersnake and corn snake, though....I'll get some closeups goin' .

Sometimes those troublesome bows turn out the best. Looks sweet.

Good looking bow, would be nice to have a closer pic of those skins so we can fully appreciate their beauty! ;)

here's the closeup - These were my first skins - used the blue tape method from "buildalongs" had some trouble trimming with a scalpel. Glad I ain't a surgeon...Anything I operate on is already dead ;D
