just set my trail cam up about four days ago and it's looking good! so far it looks like i have a six, eight, and a heck of a ten pointer, with his tongue covered with mud, coming to my lick. not to mention all the does. eddie, steve, and wade these pics were taken under the persimmon tree in the corner of the field.

The same tree I couldn't see that big racked one you could?
-
Good pics! That ten has some serious brows!
-
Them's some nice deer. That 10's gonna look reeeal good in a month or so. I just love big brows like that. 8)
-
yep eddie, that's the spot. i'm going to hang a lock on or ladder down wind for next season, if i can find a spot. the only tree down wind is that crooked basswood or the chinaberry.
-
Is that the persimmon tree on the right just inside the field? You had a ground blind set up there that I sat one day.
-
Whew, that chinaberry is gonna be tough. Are they comming up from the Bottom, or across the road.
-
pat, i may have to set a ground blind there again as the trees are twisted downwind of the persimmon. the only downside is, the persimmon is 22 yards from the blind.
eddie from the pics, it looks like the deer are coming from across the old RR bed from the right in the pics and from the cut to the left. there are some hot trails going in both directions. should be a hot spot this fall. the persimmon looks like it'll be full again this year.

Good looking deer,I plan on freshen up my mineral licks this weekend, got the stuff Wed. I have 12 of them on my place and they really use them this time of year. :)
-
That's what I'm talkin' about.Nice deer. God Bless
-
It's funny, down here a deer won't pay any attention to salt or mineral blocks. Hmmm, looking like a road trip?
-
I appreciate you pre-seasoning the meat for me. You got the salt covered, now you need to put out a pepper block and a bucket of garlic. ;D There was a good trail last year coming across the railroad bed. If you can find out where they're coming from, the best bet would be to cut 'em off before they get to the field. Bet those pines are still growing good?
-
still gotta hit 'em first, Steve 8)
-
Eddie, I'm just cursed with hogs. I can usually hit deer. My arrows curve around pigs like they got a force field around them. Seems like I remember it was somebody else lost a shirttail at Chris's......;D ;D
-
steve, it's looking like the mineral lick is helping with antler growth. i haven't seen a deer like that ten pointer around the farm like that one in over 20 years. looks like it's helping some, he'll score well over 125 this fall. wish i could get a front pic to see his spread. i'm planning on hitting that corner good for this fall with food. i put down 1800 pounds of lime around the persimmon and apple trees back in the spring and i'm planning on planting a good food plot there this fall. hopefully that'll be a hot spot all season long with the apples, persimmons, rye, winter wheat, and rape all there together. the only down side is that's the spot is right beside gma land and every idiot with a rifle will be trying to hunt over the trails coming across the old RR bed.
i'll let ya'll figure out who can shoot straight enough to hit either one of bucks in the pics. ;D i'll just be happy if one of ya'll get them, i'm happy with a flathead.
-
Steve, I'll blame it on that fancy, Jade point :D Chris that deer I walked up on with my '06 on my shoulder across the road had a nice spread like that.
-
hopefully i'll have some good pics when i check my camera this weekend.
-
The buck we spooked that morning driving in to your Dad's place was a whopper too.
-
If it was near the driveway off the hard road, Pat, it was probally that one I crapped my pants on.
-
Heh, he and his little bro were eating pears in the front yard. I think night vision goggles are in order to get that guy. ;D
