Here is a Reflex Deflex Bamboo backed Ipe bow I finished up a little while ago.. It is 60" NTN 38# at 28" the handle is Hickory and osage with a osage power lam.. Limb tip over lays are osage and kingswood.. At this draw weight it is a very pleasant bow to shoot and suprizingly quick At 172fps at 10gr per pound..

Wow, another super nice bow! 172fps out of a 38# bow... that's amazing... super efficient. Nice work, as usual.
-
Beautiful bow,as we have come to expect from you. :) love the curves and the color differences
are great. :)

Nice bow knightd!!!!!! I really want to make one of this style.
-
Another nice one David! That's one of your high r/d bows isn't it? I haven't started on the one I got from you yet, but hope I can get it to perform that well. Nice job!
-
Thats another nice one, as usual! ;)
-
i like those curves!
-
Thank's guy's.. Brownhillboy It is one of the High reflex deflex. This design in the 55# range performs a little better than it does at the lower weights but it does well all around so you can expect to get numbers close or a bit better than these.. Let me know when you get started and I will help you as much as possible with it..

Thanks David, I will.

David
Another Beauty. 172FPS out of a 38# bow :o. Who needs f-glass. ;) The bow looks great as do the wood combinations. I can't wait to get mine shooting. Really nice work.
-
Great looking bow David. I'm working on my first BBO. Hope it flings an arra that good.
-
Really nice! Like the braced profil very much; sort of tells you it's a fast bow!
-
Spectacular ;D
-
Nice work David :)
-
That is a radical R/D. I wouldn't even know where to start tillering that bow. Beautiful work. I love that contrast in the wood.
-
Nice work David. I figured it would be fast with that profile and tiller. I don't think you would get away with that design and tiller with another wood. That Ipe bamboo is sure an amazing combo. Justin
-
Thanks again guy's.. Justin what still amazes me about this combo is with the full draw being so much like a bend through the handle d bow it has only taken 1/2" of set after more than a thousand shots..
-
Very cool Dave.
-
looks great David. I tillered the one I got from you the same and was very impressed that it didn't take set. I know bamboo and ipe are a great combo but you cant get those kind of results with just any limb design. Great job :)
-
Thank's Jesse I must say you did a great job on that one you finished.. ;)
-
Quite the bow and bookmarked, too, for May Laminate BOM fun.
-
That's the little bow you were working on down at Pappy's isn't it? That's pretty cool, I'm trying for one some thing like that myself but mine has little static recurved tips. Impressive little bow.
-
Thank's Ryano.. It's not the same one I was working on at Pappy's.. The one I was working on at Pappy's went home with a Yooper!! ;)..I would love to see some pic's of the one you are working on if you get a chance..

OK, I glued up the riser to the core, next I'll add the belly and then the bamboo back. I'll post some pictures when its all glued up. It's going to be a tri-lam bamboo/red oak/ipe.....why red oak? ::) It's what I had laying around....lol. ;)
-
Why not use redoak.. Light weight and it can with stand the shear streangth needed. Might be a really good Idea.. ;)
-
that bow is just plain SEXY!
someday i want my bows to look this good & be this efficient.......
-
That does look like a fun bow. Pretty.

Thank's Ryano.. It's not the same one I was working on at Pappy's.. The one I was working on at Pappy's went home with a Yooper!! ;)..I would love to see some pic's of the one you are working on if you get a chance..
David
David I finished that bow out for the wife, now I need to get her to pose for some pictures :D BTW she likes it a whole bunch and so does the daughter :)
-
Nice bow< you sure do make some nice ones!!!

man, quit posting those ugly pieces of trash on here! You need to see some real bows that I make for competition: tiller out of whack, whip tillered (not on purpose, of course), bending in all the wrong places, and when you shoot an arrow from one....well, you better make sure you know a good orthopedic surgeon cause that SOB will dislocate your shoulder when you let the string go. IT takes a MAN to shoot my bows....and I'm the only one who does! YEAH!!
-
That's a great RD.Beautiful job all the way around. God Bless
-
I do have one bit of constructive criticism David. You need to learn how to take some better pictures man.....Like getting the camera square with the bow and use a more solid back ground for your full draw. How do you expect guys like me to copy your design if you don't post clear pictures....lol. ;) :D ;D
-
.. :o :o ;D.. I will try and do better on the next set of pics..lol..
