Title: Bamboo/cocobolo......can it be done?
Post by: MAK on May 20, 2009, 07:16:12 am
Could a guy make a boo backed bow with cocobolo as a belly wood. Or a tri lam bow with say hickory or maple for a core, then cocobolo for the belly? I sure would hate to waste cocobolo. Would the cocobolo fret? Would the limbs be just too heavy to make it worth while?

I was thinking a 66" NTN, 45-50 lbs, and I have a 26" draw.

Not sure if cocobolo would work with anything other than putting it under glass.  Ive seen it as lams under glass, but cant say ive seen it used as a belly.  It would be perty.  It would be a tool gummer.
