every bowyer probably has a bow they thought was so ugly. So this is mine. 56" ntn 46# @ 27". the worst looking osage stave i have ever seen. it was actually a belly split. when the belly split off it had a limb go through all the rings and come out whole. i cut it off a little and left it for more character. i never expected this one to survive but it was raining out side and i had nothing better to do. its riddled with knots and cracked and gouges. the cracks got super glue and serving thread, the knots just got super glue. after about 50 arrows its still holding together with surprisingly little set. i was actually using this one to sharpen my skills. I expect it will blow up sooner or later so i got plenty of pics. the tiller isn't great but it all i can do.

pretty cool little bow.. looks like some kind of elfin warbow from the forbidden lands.. ;) Hawk

Very cool little bow. Osage is amazing wood!!! You did a great job with such a short character stave and a stiff handle bow. Very nice!!!
-
originally i was going to make bend through the handle bow. but it had crack in the center full of mold and junk. I didn't know how deep it went. gotta be as flexible as the wood on your design.

That's some serious bowyerin' there, sulphur. You did well. :) jawge

If you haven't put an arrow shelf on it, have you tried turning over to adjust where you're pulling on the string for tiller? Might help maybe. If you look at your draw picture, you're pulling off center on the string. Just a thought.

It don't look ugly to me...I think you transformed a challenging piece of wood into a good looking bow! ;)

Got your neat little weapon bookmarked for April Self BOM fun. Thanks for the post.

Cool bow 8)

It's not ugly, it has "character".
-
I think its pretty cool too. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder right?
-
Sometimes it is that ugly that show us the true beauty in life. That is often true with bows as well. A perfect piece of wood is sweet to work but rarely will it teach you the skills to master anything, as much as an ugly stick will. ;) Great job on a challenge that most would walk away from. ;)

All that character in the wood makes for a more interesting piece. Good work!
