Here are the pics of my primitive bamboo arrow after some shooting. Nothing fancy but stone tools only and it shoots as good as any arrow in my quiver. I fletched with whole feather and burned it to shape but think it would be much better to cut to rough shape with a sharp flake and then touch up with a hot ember out of the fire. The nock and slot for mounting the point were not bad with stone tools. The point has taken abuse from shooting hay bales (knocked off both shoulders) but is still tight and a good shooter it was set with pine pitch ans sinue and would still be great for bunnies. This arrow only took a couple of hours to make (I had the point already) and would be very much a survival arrow. The backstrap sinue is great for fletching and hafting points, it has not frayed or done any thing except good work. Kenneth

Great arrow. Bravo for using stone tools.

Thanks for the nice comments. I will get more serious next time and spend a bit more more time for the pretty part. Just encouraging to know it can be done and not that hard. Still need to learn more about primitive fletch thinning and sanding. Kenneth

Cool arrow Kenneth. They are not that hard with stone tools. Years ago, James Parker(Robustus) showed me(and a few other guys on a weekend camping trip) how to make simple stone tools and how to improve them for specific situations like sawing. I have made only one arrow using stone tools and it resides in Hawk's quiver.

Yep they are fun I am going to make more. kenneth

COOL!
Keep at it. It doesn't take long for the mind to adapt to the stone tools. And then it's just a matter of patience and finding enough time. ::)

Looks good Kenneth, I have yet to devolve to stone tool use :)

Good job on your arrow Kenneth! Yep, once you get your shaft right then pretty much everything else is just window dressing.

Dana, the stone tools work remarkably well and are easy to make simple tools.
Art you are right and thanks.

Mike how about a picture of yours. Be careful what you shoot with it as they are not too much for abuse. I think when I get the time I will put a new point on and re fletch mine and make it not look so much like a ragamuffin. Then need to get a more user friendly target for my stone tipped arrows as I love to shoot them. Kenneth
