For my son, Jason. From a 4" diameter pignut hickory log. 70" ntn, 48#/29", 1.24 inches wide at fades. Reflexed midsectoin, deflexed mid limb, and reflexed tips. All with dry heat. Acrylic paints and clear acrylic coating. has a 10" area between the handle fades.

Nice profile and great tiller. I notice you are holding the bow a bit lower than the arrow pass? Is that normal for a bow of that type?

Nice bow, I like that color.

Pat: The bow is a bit asymetrical, upper limb 2.5 inches longer. This was actually started to be a long eastern woodland style, but in heating it, I found it responded unusually well, so I decided on this other fun project. I started out with a 12" long rigid area in the center, got it close to tiller, found which limb was bending more and dropped the handle to 10" making the stiffer lmb the bottom one. Then I heated in the curves and finished tillering.
Koan: My son and I have been huge fans of Toshiro Mifune for years. the bow is modeled after a bow Mifune uses in the film Throne of Blood. Mifune I was my second bow, made in 2002, which was a crude weapon indeed with squared off lines and tips, made while the bickory was wet, with 4" set. This is the improved version.
Timo: My bow is drawing the bow and it may partially be the angle with the cross piece of the fence behind?
Xin: Kind of you.
One note, the outer coating is polyacrylic, and I wasn't very happy with it. Although said to be clear, it grayed the white paint a bit. I think a spray on all acrylic would have been better.
Thanks to all
