Title: My first Hickory Build-a-long
Post by: JD on March 01, 2009, 09:19:48 pm
This Hickory is from my friend Bill G.  He cut the tree down last June and I believe it is a Shag Bark Hickory...I might be wrong.  I was able to get three staves from the quarter hickory.  I rough out the bow with a bandsaw and currently using a draw knife to get the bow to floor tillering stage.  I will then use various tools to remove wood, depend on my mood.  I'm shooting for 68" NTN, 50 lb@26-27.
