Title: serrations
Post by: mullet on December 30, 2008, 06:19:07 pm
I was at my daughter's Christmas Day. As I walked past the Horse shoe throwing pit I noticed a small chip.As I looked around more closely I found this big(4 1/2") Kirk Serrated blade sticking out of the ground. It has a fluted impact break on the nose and the base broke at the shaft. It has some amazing, uniform serrations. It is made from a high grade Tampa Bay Bottom chert. I couldn't believe with all the horse shoe pitching that has gone on, that it hasn't been hit , or , anybody else saw it. In one piece it would be worth a real nice hunting trip somewhere, it is still worth a new bow. :)

Lucky bushwacker.... >:(

I've seen a video on youtube that shows that you can use a stone pressure flaker to make those tiny serrations.  I think it was one of BOHUNTER's videos.

Nice point. ;D

Yep, Claude showed Bowhunter about the stone. It was used alot for abrading also between the serrations.

Dang Augie, God gave some good looks, and others good luck ?  I wasn't in either line!! :( :(
I don't think Eddie was in the good looks line either...... ;D  But he is a lucky ol dog.  I want to go garage sale-ing with him, and go to the flea market with him also!  So Eddie, did you dig up the horse shoe pit, and surrounding area?  Imagine what might have been dug up and tossed, when they cleared the lot where she lives. :o

Eddie, you could fall in a $h*#house hole and come out with a gold brick. The only thing that makes it bearable is that you're uglier than a mud fence.;D

Makes me smile just remembering the look on your wife's face. :D The bug didn't feel anything since he was sedated before you ate him!
