Great job there,I guess everything IS bigger in Texas! Are you going to put a handle on that tommy-hawk? If so lets see it.Did you run flakes from both sides to create the channel?Keep up the good work,I'll be lookin for more to come.

Thanks ya'll ;D. The novaculite is about a quarter inch thick D, I bashed on it with wreckless abandon and somehow it survived - was showing dad how to knap again ::). No slabs here, just cooked rocks. I ran a channel as best I could from both ends on both sides Roger, thinned her down some for the handle. I am going to put a handle on the hawk, and their will be pictures :).

Those are sweet, Paul-I bet that raw perd makes a good axe, tough stuff. That novac point is awesome, need to make you a big spear and put that sucker on it. :)

Thanks Hawk, Steve, Rick! I was just explaining and showing technique to dad, the size was getting what I could out of that rock :).

Impressive Paul. When are you gonna start teaching classes? ;D

You guys are killing me! It's all I can do just to get a point of some sort of acceptable level, and that takes me hours to do. You are the Man, that is for sure. Dang! those are nice. Only thing that I would've done, "IF" I had the skill you have, is I would have moved the groove in the hawk head, more towards the pointed end, to have more of an axe, and more for re-edging after use.
"Why, as I have heard Eddie say so many times," " Holey Moley!! " ;D :D

Those are some fine looking creations you revealed Paul!

Paul: Someday you will have to bring your family up to Wyoming for a visit! Mike Huston can show you the country and do some hunting, fishing, sight seeing or just setting around beating up on rocks. I have a pallate full of flints and it would be great to watch you do some of that bashing you are always talking about. Your skill level is unbelievable! Watcher The staves you sent are awesome and scare me to death knowing I will no doubt make kindling out of them. Thanks
-
Very nice stuff Paul,I love the axe head. :)

Thanks all! Haven't posted in last few days with puter down :-\. Joe: Man I'd love to pay a visit, never know what the future will bring. Those staves aught to make some fine bows with time, enjoy :).
