Where to find 3/8 Heads
« on: November 20, 2008, 11:28:33 am »
Where do you guys find heads for 3/8 arrows? The only place I can seem to find bodkins and/or field points at reasonable prices are on ebay UK.

I live in WA, USA There doesn't seem to be anyone selling 3/8 heads?

You may need to taper the forward end of your shafts to accept the available heads. On my sourwood shoot shafts(and some canes) the shaft behind the point is a larger diameter than the points but they shoot fine and it actually makes it easier to remove from a target.   Pat

Thank you for the tip. That seems like the only viable option.

I've never found a source for 3/8" points, so I do like Pat-get 23/64" points and taper the front couple inches of the shaft.

I think .38 special bullet casings fit a 3/8 shaft. You might have to shave the tip a little, the pound the casing on.
