Improvised Heat Box.... sorta
« on: November 24, 2008, 08:17:03 pm »
This is my improvised heat box.I'm using it on an Ironwood stave right now and its working nicely. It is a Billiard/ pool light I have over my pool table.I hung the bow underneath it and wrapped with aluminum foil. It has 3 /60 watt bulbs and the temp inside is 80 to 90 degrees.I can only heat part of the bow but I'll do it in 3 parts the limbs and the handle section. Right now I'm doing the handle . I'll leave it in there for 2 days and then do the limbs for a day each. What y'all think? Am I crazy?

I'm gonna hang my glue up over an 8' electric strip baseboard and crank it up.

Whatever works for ya. The foil ain't doing much though, heat rises. I have a closet in my house that has two furnace ducts running through it to the upstairs rooms and it gets very hot and dry in there. It makes a good hot box in the winter time of course my whole house gets down to around 30 percent moisture level in the winter time so the whole house is a pretty effective drying box in winter. In the summer I just run a wooden box with three 100 watt light bulbs in it.
Its November, I'm gone hunt'in.......
Osage is still better.....
