yew ELB

I just finished a yew ELB, 69" NTN, 50#@28". I think the wood must have been a bit wet, cuz it took 3.5" of set!! Can I use heat or steam to bring the set down? I was thinking of flipping the tips... is this a good or bad idea? It has buffalo horn nocks.

If you think the wood was wet strap it to a form with a little bit of reflex and let it dry.  Maybe a hot box for a few weeks. If it is green and you put dry heat to it, you will probably get some checking.  Steam might work, but I think the hot box is by far the best option.

Justin's advice is good. But why flip the tips? This is supposed to be an ELB

Hi,
I'm not talking about making it into a recurve, only reflexing the tips to bring it back to 0 string follow. A R/D ELB, if you will.

wouldnt doing that just make it a long bow,not an english style long bow?
