I've been building bows for 3 or 4 years now. My bows are finally good enough to not feel entirely hamstrung hunting with them and not a modern recurve. I started with hackberry. Killed a few critters with that. Then cedar elm, also a few critters. Now osage and a lot more critters. And also fire hardened cedar elm may be my new favorite.
