"Bushwhacker"
« on: November 04, 2008, 03:04:59 pm »
Here's a  little osage bow I made ,it's just a very simple thing, but it's performance is way above par,and I wanted to share. For a basically straight design,(with very small flipped tips),it is exceptionally fast. This one is made from some wood I cut near Mt.Vernon,Tx.,a couple of years back, and I'm lookin' forward to getting into this new stock,as I've got several logs.(I get very little wood this straight). The stats are:

58 3/16" tip to tip,  57" nock to nock
      1 3/16" at fades,tapering evenly to 3/8" tips
7" of non-working handle section,6" left stiff at tips. (@ 38" of working limb)
      55#@ 25"

Looks like a killer to me Pete! Hmm, Mt Vernon - gonna have to check out the map and see where that is.
