There is some gray chert i get from a creekbed and i would like to know what it is. Is ther a way i could find out?

David, google "Illinois chert type index". There's a good site with a picture index and a key for Illinois.

thanks Hillbilly i will do that. I guess iwould say it is more of a white color with some gray spot/streaks in it
