Some "Crappy" Johnstone points
« on: October 13, 2008, 09:41:05 pm »
I finally have been able to knap some during work, while running some perc-tests.  I can only imagine how weird it must sound to people working across the mountain. :o I used hammerstones and an antler tine for pressure flaking.  Still can't seem to keep um big before breakin em.  :P I left a little red stuff on one for effect.

Nothing crappy looking about those Jonathan (except for those brown stains on the one to the right of the Yadkin.)  ;D Nice work!

Nothing "crappy" about those points...but even if there were you should be able to wipe them off with a little paper off the roll!  ;D

Not too shabby Johnathan - that one is a little crappy though ;D. Nice work with hammerstone and antler!

Thanks fellas,

Pat, I work for an environmental consulting firm.  We do a lot of septic permitting in addition to other services.

Anyone going to the Clinch River Knap In this weekend?

That is quite an aspiring goal to shoot for, however, I think I would crack under the pressure.....again.  Also, with all those great knappers in the running, I am probably at the bottom of the bowl. ;D
