Tillering with Photoshop?
« on: October 01, 2008, 10:25:15 pm »
I'm thinking that there is a way to photograph a bow on the Tillering Tree, hold that image and overlay a REVERSED image of it on top using Photoshop or some other good image application.    My thinking is that this would allow us to really see the differences in the limbs are tillered and bending.  Any of you Primitive Archer fans Hi-tech computer wizards?   Or maybe your kids are.

This could be a handy tool and end some arguments about shape.

Some people take it that far but the handiest I have seen is to simply overlay an oval on the picture to see how it lays. I don't have one done but maybe someone does.

I just tiller my bows till they shoot good. Usually when I post a picture, it is finished. I'd rather look at the Wood bending instead of running back and forth to the house to get on the 'puter to finish a bow.

If you have to pull the trigger, is it really archery?

Hi there Piper:

I do exactly what you are talking about. Check out my thread http://www.primitivearcher.com/smf/index.php/topic,4820.0.html. I don't get on PA as much as I'd like due to travel/job, but I can tell you it's a great group, though I think they think our idea is a tad looney! :D

best luck, email me if the method isn't clear from the thread.
