the sapwood layer was about 5/8" thick.

 Dave,
 Gorgeous brace and full draw. I always wondered how all that sap wood would perform. Kind of makes a case for maybe trying to save some for a bow in and of itself. I do know that osage sapwood is probabely tougher than most other woods heartwoods anyway so even if its not as tough as osage heartwood you have just proven it'll do nicely for a bow.
