largest and best knapping to date
« on: September 25, 2008, 01:16:45 pm »
Well I've been beating my head against rocks now for prob a year or so. trying to improve and mostly having fun in the process. I'm slow as all get out but can (usually) turn out a point good nuf to strap to an arrowshaft. sometimes anyway. still struggling with it quite a bit tho.

Anyway, turned this out a couple of days ago. think it took me a full day off and on... mostly on I think. but I am pretty proud of it. think I will haft it to a horn and call it a knife. Its a bit thicker than I wanted but guess it will make a sturdy knife blade.

also a pic of a couple arrowheads shafted that I turned out this past weekend for a hunt coming up in SC this upcoming weekend.... hope to stick a deer with 'em. or just about anything but myself I guess I would be happy with.

oh yea... the rock is flint ridge, coral and kentuk hornstone.
later.

Look great n2! them are critter sticker's for sure ;). Don't worry if they're a tad thick - just means you can use em more than once ;D.

Those are good looking arrowheads. That spearpoint would look good sticking out of the side of a hog. (Think they got a few hogs in SC)  Frank
