Nice one Kegan, I know what you mean by the handle popping of, it happened to my BOO backed Red Oak too,...hey if that happens you can build the same shape handle with layers of leather and superglue, it will feel has hard as wood but will have just enougth give to stay put,.... good luck and stick one

I agree with Ryano.  I have looked at a lot of Kegans bows in the past and can definitely see improvements in his ability to tiller a weapon.  This one is definitely his BEST one to date.

Thanks everyone. I've been trying lately to make each one better than the last (with Red Oak stick being an exception ), not only as far as tiller, but also in terms of aesthetics and just plain "shootability". Glad you all noticed !

Justin- Thank you . I don't have a good photo of the grain, just the comparison picture I used when I started building it, and explaining what to look for. Oddly enough, I broke the board with the better grain, and it seems like the only thing on this bow that might go is the handle. Jane is made from the top board. The grain runs across the limbs over about 12" or so.

Wow, some wide limbs. I'm a tad late to post, but that's a fine looking bow and powerful. Be sure to post pic's when Jane makes some meat .

Thanks cowboy . It's been some time since I've made one with full 2" wide limbs. Used ot have such trouble with tillering them, I guess I learned a few things from all the great bows on this site .

I like the flat bows.  I have one made out of white oak.  Shoots great, but I am outgrowing it.
