What is the best arrow for me?

I have just finished my first osage flat bow
it pulls 57# at 28''
it dose not have a cut-in arrow shelf
so, what spine arrow would be best?
right or left feathers?
I need all the imput i can get

With a 57# home made bow that does not have a cut-in arrow shelf, I would recommend starting with an arrow spined for 50# @ 28".  If you have a spine tester, the deflection would be 0.52 inch on a 26" span between supports.  If you're making your own arrows, try 3/8" birch dowels, 5/16" rivercane, or anything else that will give you a 0.52" deflection.

The feathers should not matter.

As for the rest, I can only guess, but as it is flat with no cut in, you probably want a spine a little under the draw weight.  But, for the a perfect shot there are so many factors to consider.  Just to name a few, the bow width, the arrow lengh, your skill, your draw, etc.  

I have no expertise, but I would get a variety of spines between 40 and 60 lbs and see what works best.

For a 57# self bow I would go with 45# spine weight arrows. Leaving arrows long helps with the paradox on a self bow. I have a 26" draw length but cut my arrows to 29".  The feathers don't matter as long as all on each arrow are the same.    Pat

  I'd try a 32" arrow with a 125grn point splined at 65#. Thats what I shoot and they fly like darts.

As I understand it the general rule of thumb is that for bows with no shelves cut into the handle the arrows should be 5# lighter than what the archer is pulling.  So, if you are pulling 57# @ a 28" draw than i would start with arrows spined around 50-52# @ 28".  That being said many factors can influence what arrows fly best for you (arrow lengh, arrow material, tip weight, bow design, etc...)
