If you have to pull the trigger, is it really archery?

Mullet, is that tonkin sanded smooth?  Or does it still have nodes?  Is that 8mm and 10mm dimension measured across the fat end of the shaft?  Thanks.  (Forgive me if you've already answered these questions in some other thread.)

There is not a lot of difference in Tonkin from one end to another. They are also almost solid in the middle with a very small pith hole. The nodes are not very prominent and these shafts are smooth.

Thanks Mullet.  The tonkin I bought recently had some pretty lumpy nodes.....and some of the branches seemed to be hacked off with a blunt object. :-\

Just sand the rough edges, that stuff is not going to come apart on you. Ask everybody what my arrow looked like that I shot the metal target with at Pappy's shoot.

Eddie, how difficult are the tonkin to straighten? Do you usually put hard wood inserts in for the nock and tip?

Greg, I've watched Chris Cade straighten a dozen pretty fast. You would be hard pressed to insert any wood in Tonkin. They are almost solid.
