Critter gitters for son
« on: August 31, 2008, 08:52:30 pm »
Here is a half dozen squirrel arrows I built for my son. 4-"critter gitters",1- blunt,and 1 flu-flu.
White oak,33", @ 5/16"diameter,  55-60# spine. I cut the blanks form an old board from a headboard close to 50 years old. They were doweled with a router and drill rig. They all weigh  525 grains,+ or - 5 grains.
I'm still amazed at the spine -diameter ratio. With red oak or privet, they would usually have to be nearly 3/8" in diameter.  Sorry about the one picture that makes the flu-flu appear to be arced. It is actually as straight as a, well you know.  Thanks for lookin'.  God Bless

If you have to pull the trigger, is it really archery?

Nice arrows, Pete. The critter getters look quite effective for small game. I'd be afraid of sticking that flu flu up in a tree trying for a squirrel.  :o    Pat
