Papa Matt: What I generally do is rough out the bow, steam in the recurves and use dry heat (heat gun) to straighten out all the bends. Just eyeballl down the stave and start heating and straightening, usually wind up losing some of the recurve if thier's a bend in that area - if so I heat on the other recurve till it matches. Not sure that's the best way but it's working for me - think I'm going to start straightening before recurving though, would be easier.
