well yes, to technically finish the bow did not take long at all! the finish work sure took way longer!!

heat-treating rattan is no problem at all; just a few minutes with the heatgun and it bends! i heated it some more when it was clamped down and worked on soon as i could touch it.

the recurves are ridgid, so they wont be pulled out!

in germany rattan (also called manau) is available from archery suppliers.

i had seen a guy with a similar bow with a cable backing, looked pretty much like an inuitbow. thatone had around 50# and he was happy with it!

haven't had a chance to take a picture of Luca in full draw, yet, but today i was sent a picture of another boy named Felipe pulling a similar bow i made for him a while back. he loves it and i'd say his bearing looks great at full draw; he pulls close to 30# here and he is not the biggest guy!
