New Iron Wood bow finished.
« on: August 11, 2008, 07:50:36 am »
I finely got my IW finished and shot in,I have put abot 300 arrows through it and man it is a shooter.
It is 62 n-n 53@26.It has about an inch of back set after shooting and about 2 after rest.I first dyed it with yellow and planed on doing the lower half with a dark Orange like I have seen on here several
times but it looked like crap so I dyed it all over with the darker color and then sanded it down so just some of the bright yellow showed through. It is sealed with about 8 coats of tru oil and the a cover
coat of Satin poly. to dull it down.turned out looking pretty good,a little different but OK.Hope yall
like it.By the way out of all the IW. I have had over the years this is my first bow from it.I always seem to give it away.I almost gave this away at the Classic but Greg talked me out of it,Thanks GregB.

Well, once Pappy finally kept a piece of hhb long enough to make a bow out of it...I think he done it justice!  ;) It really is a good shooter and I'd bet it see's some action in the deer woods this fall!

I wasn't crazy about the initial dye scheme just like Pappy wasn't...chance's you take when trying something new sometimes. But I like the combination he has on it now, turned out to be a good looking bow as well as a performer. :)
