Isn't it funny how when you have one break you must always figure out a way to make something out of it. I have made back scratchers forks spoons.. Miniature bows all sort's of thing's but never have throwed away one that broke..

Yea Thimo it was osage and I agree elm is tough stuff, I have one that has clamp marks in the back, its been walked on tossed over brush piles, bounced in the truck
you name it  ;D I wasn't upset on this one as I figured it was gonna break and it was just getting floor tillered so not much time invested.

moist heat will remove clamp marks actualy....
I broke one yesterday Dana, don't feel bad...
Its November, I'm gone hunt'in.......
Osage is still better.....

I agree with George. Make a short bow from it. Any ole piece of wood will make a nice walking stick but a cool stave like that is destine to be a bow.  ;)    Pat

Pat it has 2 more cracks running off the sde, its not worth the effort. I have a few more osage staves so I will move on to another :)

haven't broken one in awhile...had a few faulty glueups, though, and that's similar...just move on to the next one...no fuss, no muss
