A collection of various Bows and one in the making.

First two pics are a brand new elm staff I procured today. Should make a dandy of a warbow.

Next is a replica of one of the Nydam bows. Followed by one I made out of dense erc.

That was good ERC.  I made one for Marlon a couple years ago that was massive, fully 1 3/4" wide at the center yet I don't think it pulled 120# @ 32"

Great looking warbow Thimo! - that full draw shot looks like it hurt a little, I'd hate to be on the recieving end :-X ;D.

Thanks guys.

That "war-face" comes out when I'm concerned about the "integrity" of a bows back. The erc was riddled in knots and I made more than a few hasty mistakes while debarking. LOL

Thanks.

Well I went and reduced the limbs on the elm while still green, down to 1/4" of the final specs. Now I'll let it dry a bit.

I'm not as rash as it may sound. I first cut a section and worked it down into a small sample of the cross-section. Oven dried it last night and tested it's density, which came in at the high .70's. The trees that grow here near the Great-Dismal swamp seem to always come out denser that the same trees taken in other surrounding forests.

I like the tiller on the erc, you really got those outside limbs working nicely. Steve
