Tallow Wood.

I have acess to about an acre of super streight shade grown Tallow trees. Is this stuff any good for makeing bows with ?

If it is Chinese Tallow Tree(Sapium sebiferum),Popcorn tree... then I would say not to bother with it for bows .  The milky sap is poisonous. The waxy coat on the fruit was rendered and used for soaps, candles and lamp oil. This is another invasive exotics that has taken over native ranges and with little value to wildlife so cut down all you want.  ;)      Pat

Most of the real straight, perfect looking bow wood isn't good bow wood at all with a few exceptions. I'm sure with the proper design and lots of skill and luck a bow could be made from this and almost any wood. There are better options out there to work with.  Pat
