Big Hole Osage
« on: July 14, 2008, 02:43:52 pm »
I got this piece of osage from Ryano last year. I started it at our primitive shoot
in April, and worked on it at the Classic this year. I still need to put more tung oil
on it and probably a leather grip. It is 69" NTN. I started out long and forgot to
trim it down. It is 1 5/8" at the fades to mid limb and 3/8" at the tips. It pulls
50# at 29" and pulls smooth. It has purple heart overlays. Some of the photos
are blurry, I will post some more when I finish it. Thanks for looking.

Fine looking character bow. That big hole is skeery, though.  :o

That is not a peep sight it's a sight for a mortar!  Too cool!

That is a great looking bow.  Any chance of getting a full draw picture that we can see the tiller better?  Justin

Thanks for looking.

There is a slight hing between the hole and the fades.
I didn't catch it until too late. I was too worried about
the hole. There is also some bumps in that area, which
makes it hard to see the tiller. I will post some more
photos when I am done with the finish.

That tiller is awesome. Right on. Are you sure the area you think is hinged is not a little hump in the wood? I was looking at the unbraces picture and their seems to be a natural hump there. Jawge
