yalls advice+another board + another weekend=better bow

i took yall's advice for my redoak board bows. i made another one this weekend. it is the full 72 inches. an inch and a half at the handle, half inch at the tips. finished with toung oil, drawing 55 at 28. still took about 3 inches of set though. ??? anyway, thanx for the help guys.
lets just shoot it

Thats what my first one did.  It was due to overstressing during tillerring.  If your making a 55# bow dont strain it to 60# or it will take unnecessary set.  Also If you are making board bows i  get a 1x3x6 so you could make it 2" wide instead of 1 1/2 so you have more wood working.

....good point. also, after about a hundred shots some pretty bad splenters started riseing on the back in the handle. im screwing up my tiller. bending to much in the handle. i think im gonna try sticking with the same size boards, just drop the drawweight to 45lbs.
