Nope. Been leaving the laminations in my unheater shop overnight and floortillering the next day. So far no glue-related problems. It's made for laminated cedar strip canoes appearently, and those don't fit in hotboxes too well ;D

Well, I order some thru 3 Rivers yesterday.....using paypal.

Shipped to my door in KY, a whopping $18.20!  I have 5 pieces of hickory bakcing a two Ipe boards........

I am just going to rip the Ipe to Size and glue 'em all up in one go!

Can you say archery nerd heaven?

Also, Weldwood Plastic Resin is a urea glue, similar to Urac. It comes in powder form and you add water to mix. Cures like Urac and once cured I couldn't tell the difference. When I bought it(from Ace Hardware) it was cheap(about $5 for 1# tub). I only used it a few times but never had any problems with it. It doesn't have a shelf life like Urac as long as it isn't exposed to moisture.      Pat

Just ordered a couple of pints from Nelson. I use one and keep the other in the frig, about $10 a pint shipped, much cheaper than any other place. A quart is too much glue unless you make bows for a living so I recommend buying it a pint at a time.

If you order from Nelson, be sure to select the option with the hardener.  Somewhere in the description it specified that all of it came with hardener, not so.  I got mine and had to turn around and order $1.50 worth of hardener and pay like $9.00 to ship it!

Just emphasizing that they are very different products. One is an epoxy and the other is a glue. Supposedly these glues can be used with much higher clamping pressures then epoxy without starving the joint. The counter man at IPP was really knowledgeable when I wa picking it out. He recommend I stay away from the epoxies if I was going to use screw clamps.

About shipping glue...I have ordered a bunch of stuff including urac 185 over here to Japan with no problems, shouldnt be a problem for the closer places either I suppose.....

thanks...and i hope that warbow works out for you...btw, have you tried any douglas fir yet?  Where I work, there's so much vertical grained douglas fir it'd make you sick.  One of these days i'll pull a couple scraps out of there ( i mean, GOOD scraps) and test it as a core wood.  We have all the great woodworking tools, so I can use a jointer to taper the core wood, a thickness sander for parallel laminations...oh, i am in heaven.
