52" Osage Static Recurve

Here is an osage Static Recurve that I just finished up.

52" N-2-N
60#@28"
Sinew backed.
1" of set due to the shortness and the small portion of working limb that i opted for in the tiller.

Final tiller is still a bit off but i called it done. For some reason this one would just not cooporate well. Its still passable and good though. Bottim limb is kept a bit stiff. I have started leaving my short sinew bows very stiff in the bottm as they tend to take some time to settle in.

Great little bow, Steve. With those tips out in front as far as they are, a bit of set won't hurt anything...might even make it a sweeter shooter. I also love your pictographs. Being the forward thinking person I am, ::) I can see one of these bows in my future!  8)  I can only hope it comes out as well as yours has.   Pat

Thanks guys, I apricate the nice comments.

I knew you'd like this one Ryan. More your style then mine but I wanted to try something differnt. Replicating is chalenging and time consuming, bows like this are just plain old fun to make becaus ethey can be whatever you want.

Lost arra, The grip and all the wraps are linen.

Rich, I boil and the use a caul for static tips. They are a bit thick and I prefer the boiling method for them. I use dry heat for everything else. Its quick. I am not sure how fast as I do not run my bows through chronos. I would imagine its pretty quick though.

Really like this style of bows but for some reason when I try to make one of this type of shortie, I finally ended up with a longbow!!..LOL...
How many time had you drying for the sinew layer/s?
