I have a couple of unknown wooden arrows still good after twenty years plus of life, replaced some fletching was all. But I have also gone through two dozen POC and some half-dozen called 'Victorian ash' in a year and a half of wandering through the bush every couple of days. The POC loves to shatter behind the point if it hits a rock/tin-shed/birdbath/vehicle and as I shoot 30" arrows I don't get much chance to reclaim them. Most of mine are buried somewhere under leaf litter despite the fact I now paint the back half fluoro pink with red fletches and a fluoro yellow nock. I will have to go out sometime with a metal detector and get some points back!
It is fun making arrows fortunately but getting too expensive, I shall have to stop stump shooting, well missing anyway. That's the real problem with life expectancy of arrows!
