Hi all, I just posted some pics of a birch bow in the bows section that had this quiver in the background, PatB asked that i get some pictures of just the quiver, so here they are. Birch bark is acutally pretty easy to work with, if you get it wet with hot water it will bend to pretty much any shape you want, I know several people who make some really neat birchbark baskets. For this quiver i simply rolled the bark to the size i wanted and drilled holes that i sewed up with artificial sinew. (My friends that make baskets use spruce tree roots for sewing) then i glued a thin piece of plywood in the bottom and added the leather. By leaving the leather that i used to lace the leather up long i was able to attach the strap, which is just a piece of birch bark sewn to a soft piece of leather. I was really impressed at how light this quiver actually is, only bad thing is that i think if i were to acidentally sit on it, it would probably shatter.
