just checked and on top of sending a PM to all users the software allows to send a newsletter (simple email)
I think it could be worth the shot

This is such great news!! I sadly rarely visit the forum anymore as my curiosity has led me down other rabbit holes, but archery is still a huge part of my daily life and the knowledge I gained through this forum will stay with me for a long time. A huge thank you to Sleek for taking on this responsibility and for all other users and supporters who continue to make this place the heart and soul of primitive archery knowledge and learning in the modern era. I can't wait to see where it goes from here.

Getting the email that my account was accepted onto the website was a really pleasant surprise.

Was going on an internet manhunt for all of my later father's posts on any arrowhead site I could find, and it seemed like I just missed the mark on this forum that seemed to be dysfunctional. Now I can see his posts, Thank you!!!   :OK
Hope that the forum can regain its popularity and community again.  (=) :G

Wow! Your comment gos right to the heart of why people took up the task of reviving this forum. We just could not stand by and see the archives lost. I mean, we all wanted access to posts made by friends and ourselves....but this....THIS!

BobbiJo, I am deeply moved that you've now got access to your father's posts and can experience some of the fellowship he shared with us. May I ask who your father was?

I'll try to list some of the things that PA needs in my opinion. Feel free to comment and extend.

1- Setting up a PA donation page

2-  forum direct access to primitivearcher.com domain if former commercial activities are dead.
Probably a redirect would be a good option for those who access via bookmarks

3- get rid of all "the end is near" posts. they make me anxious  (lol)

4- change the "link in post" post policy to allow direct links to other informative sites with no commercial intents.
Referring to external information sources without a link was often a pain in the...

5- pinning a thread for forum's suggestions, issues reports...

Thank you Kevin for bringing it back. I have not been on in a while due to not being secure and for one reason or another it would make my phone crash. This forum has done a lot for me not only in my ability but I've met some of my best friends that about 8 of us still text basically every day. Some of it's archery related most of it's just friends sharing friend stuff. Hope it can come back and be easier to post and secure. If there's any sort of a yearly subscription I would be glad to participate as I don't go on any other social media and really enjoy seeing what other people are up to and sharing mine. Looking forward to the changes!

I have been member for years but not been actively posting although I  have been reading it regularly, and when I first heard the magazine was closing down and the forum as well I was really sad as this has always been the most relabel source of help and information.
Many thanks Sleek that have solved the future for this forum, I am greatful :OK

Is the forum still linked to the Primitive Archer magazine?
If it is not, can we please reinstate Bow of the Month as a competition open to all?
I feel this will help encourage and retain interest in the forum.

No, for now the magazine is non operational. Bow of the month will come back as soon as I learn how to change the banner image on top of the site. The BOM winner will have his bow displayed there and hopefully hyperlinked to the build thread. That's the plan anyway. Anyone's help who knows how to do that would be greatly rewarded with a plethora of thank yous!
