I think i messed up

 :'(   :'( :'(I was cutting belly taper on my osage board 1/4 tapering to 5/8 at the handle.  I wil glue a hickory back on this.

One limb is EXTREMELY weak and i am afraid to take wood off it.

I hope i didnt mess up. i cut right along the lines.

Can't always predict strength by thickness.  Maybe do a laminate.

When you add the hickory backing it will more than double the draw weight. The ouer limb will get about 3 time as strong. You proably have nothing to worry about. Steve

Always remember when building bows, kids and women need bows too. ;D

How thick is your hickory backing? 1/4" at the tip is a little thin, always helps to build in the fudge factor. ::)

o your so right about the fugde factor.

My hick backing is 3/16 thick and i was going to add tip overlays

ok good.  I need to bring the other limb down to where this one is the glue up it and tiller it.

if it does turn out light i have about 4" or so i can pike off
