The sun was barely visible this morning with the smoke from nearby fires in the air

Fires are still out of control but we had rain last night so at least the smoke is gone

Last I heard they had almost 8 million acres burnt. That was a few weeks ago. It sounded like most of them would burn till fall?

It’s been a smoky haze here most days. It’s hard to imagine that much smoke. Sometimes you can look right at the sun. Didn’t get any rain yesterday but some spotting ones today.

You can look at the Sun?  I can't even figure out where it is!  The Keweenaw has been extremely hazy these past few days.  Smoke is even showing up on the forecast, and you can smell it occasionally.

Imagine this for all summer, reminds me of what I've heard of A.D. 536, 'Worst Year in History'

The sun in this picture is just starting to clear the trees

I took some pictures an hour later when the sun was higher but you couldn't even see the sun in the pictures so I didn't bother posting them

It’s pretty bad here tonight. Thick and low to the ground. Can easily smell it. This does seem closer

We haven't got any of it here yet but they say it is in KY, so who knows if the wind gets right we might even see some of the smoke this far south. WOW.

Have been having some smoke issues here in Ohio also.. I’m sure it awful up in Canada and the border states.. Hope it rains enough up there to put the fires out, or at least so they can get them under control. Hard to imagine 8 million acres burned, that’s awful.

We've seen the smoke here in western NC.

And eastern NC, it's messing with my wife's asthma.
