Morning all, this is an attempt at a blade from old lopping shears. What could I treat it w to prevent the rusting and tarnish? Thanks, Paul

That's a lot of corrosion if that didn't sit out in the weather or at the bottom of the Gulf of Mexico. I use olive oil on my hunting knives, but mineral oil works fine as well. For game processing it just needs to be food safe. I would think a wood/furniture wax would also work OK. I use Minwax furniture wax to keep my power tool tables/ways/etc. from rusting in an unheated shop.

Thanks Mark, it's been sitting in my unconditional garage in Savannah for a year....ill clean it up, again :-), and then put a handle on it and keep it oiled
