Another one from me. I made this static recurve out of fairly nice yew stave, but with low heartwood/sapwood ratio and thick growthrings. I prefer much slower growing yew wood, but the piece had not much drying cracks at least (sourcing any yew wood is difficult here so you can't be picky). Despite many big knots I managed to process the piece into nice and fairly knotless stave. The bow is approx 70" ntn and it's drawing 60lb at 28". It took a bit of set but not much, no more than 1" I think. I cut an arrow shelf at handle for right-handed archer. I used purple heart wood for tips overlays and for the shelf. Many heated corrections were required to line this stick up.
