Farm Fresh
« on: November 30, 2022, 08:35:54 pm »
I’ve been collecting the supplies for this arrow for several years.

I harvested everything from my farm

The red osier several years ago and straightened it several times until it seems to be staying straight.

The pitch glue is from trees on my farm.

White tail back sinew from my farm

Wild turkey tail feathers from my farm

The hardest to find. The chert I knapped my point from. It’s actually some very high quality cert that originally came from the local quarry. I found it on the windmill rd on my farm. It’s rare to find this high quality stuff that’s been run through the crusher in good enough condition to Knapp and good point. I like this one.

I don’t always name my arrows, but this one is kinda special. I’m hoping to use it with a HHB Selfbow I made from tree on my farm and a natural sting to take a deer from my farm.

Getting closer. Just need the string and the deer now

Thought I’d name this one “Farm Fresh “

That's super cool!  Good luck with making the string and getting a deer to cooperate.

I love that idea BJ. Hope it comes true for you. That's a very nice looking arrow. Best of luck.

Thank You everyone for looking and the nice words.

GlisGlis that’s been a goal of mine since before I ever shot one of my arrows. Getting closer.
