This osage recurve bow is 65” ntn and is backed with one layer of whitetail deer back and leg sinew. I used Knox gelatin glue for the sinew and wrapped it with an ace bandage after applying the sinew. The bow is 50# @ 28” and is really smooth to draw and quiet on release. I used a straight pyramid design; 1-3/8” wide at the fades and 1/2” at the tips. The tip overlays are ebony and the handle wrap is tanned cow hide laced with artificial sinew. The string is Dacron B-55.
I applied bull snakeskins using TB III to protect the sinew. The bow is finished with six coats of Tru-Oil and a final coat of spar urethane.
