Pelicans in central canada

Im originally from nova scotia.back there are no pelicans.i remember being really surprise to see rhem in the canadian prairies.ive seen them 1000km north of the 49th.incredible birds indeed.heres a pick from yesterday on the mighty red river just north of winnipeg
Some like motorboats,I like kayaks,some like guns,I like bows,but not the wheelie type.

Yeah, we have them in Wisconsin as well.  They eat a lot of fish... Pelicans and cormorants are really a nuisance in big water areas, they are protected and take over islands crapping everywhere and decimate fish.  I think they have been oiling eggs of cormorants, but I believe the pelicans get a pass...
