Thanks everyone. I will leave the back alone and see what happens. I probably won’t work on it until later this summer as I’m getting ready for a Saskatchewan black bear hunt, and have quite a bit going on right now. I will keep you posted when I get started on it.

Lots of the hickory around here grows like that. It can be a pain laying out the profile if the tree has a bunch of them, but I haven’t found it to bother the bows. Adds character!  (SH)

Thanks organic, gives me a little more confidence that there might be a bow in there if I can find it.
