thanx everybody!
BowEd: I live in a moderate climate - due to my lack of e climate chamber I cannot really judge the properties of yew in very dry or wet climate. I also heard it tolerates moisture well and can say from own experience that it starts denting and the risk of failure raises when its overdried. That maybe the cause for your personal experience with yew, saying it dents when you look at it
Indeed it may be not the very best choice in a very dry climate.....but proper mc yew does not dent at all - its rather like cutting bacon.
Yes, B2W, this was a rather quick build - with clean an straight wood a simple bow can be made in a few hours
And no Superdav, I haven't filled the check with superglue yet. I think this particular piece is of extremly good quality that it can deal with this knot in there without failing. Anyways,....I'm not sure if it would benefint at all from superglueing that little crack...
Cheers everybody!
