I've let myself down

I've let you all down, I've let the school down, but most of all I've let myself down.
this bow is supposed to be 80# @31"
Studying the picture I thought...hang on that's not 82# that's 72! I went back into the garage and looked at the peak hold needle on the scale... yes 72# !!!!
Arrrgghhh. I've E-mailed the guy and said he can have a full refund if he doesn't want it.
At what point did I start missreading the scale??? At least I can trawl back through the videos on my blog and find out where I went wrong.
I'm not angry, just dissapointed  ::)
If anyone  wants me, I'll be on the naughty step.

PS I trawled back through the videos to find at what point I started missreading the scale. It was only the last bit of work I did... it had been 85# at 30", I took it shooting and it seemed to be the same, so I went a bit heavy handed with the rasp. The wood removal I'd done before seemed to have little effect (despite exercising the wood). I'm sure we've all had that before... nothing happens, then you get a sudden shift.
Don't s'pose I'm the first to do this.

I like that one . Yes it is more difficult for me to hit weights on heavy bows . One because I don’t build them except for flight bows for my strong guy. But then 5-7 pounds are not that critical. I just say work the weights some more.🤠

Thought was going to be a link to a video where you break one on the tree and we see your feet come up in the air. lol

Seems like I saw one of those before  :o

I’ve done some dumb things to. Like cutting a arrow shelf on the wrong side.  :-[

Least your still making them.

Yeah I would have to 2nd the notion that we all have made a few silly mistakes.

My biggest blunder was when I decided to take a really sweet-shooting R-D elm bow and steam in a little more reflex...well, in my haste I decided NOT to turn on all of my lights which resulted in me bending & strapping the bow down to the form belly down instead of back down...and a irreparable crack erupted on the bow’s back.

I am still to this day pretty certain that if I had turned on my main light in my workroom I would have noticed the subtle color difference between that bow’s sapwood and heartwood...and I probably would not have made that awful mistake.
