Plum wood haul
« on: December 25, 2023, 10:01:04 am »
Finally got my hands on some finnish plum(prunus domestica) logs.
I split them up to staves and sealed the ends.
Good christmas gift for myself! )-w(

WOW! Around here, plums are bushes, rarely more than 7-8 ft tall, skinny as a delicate young girl's wrist, and shaped like an epileptic sidewinder rattlesnake being tazed! In fact, it is so twisted I don't think it would burn straight!

Nice haul! Good luck.

Our wild plum is much like JW’s. Scrubby, and twisted in knots. I did cut some on several occasions for various things, and it split clean in-two while drying.
