None of our dogs had to be put down, all simply recognized it was their time and laid down comfortably and went to sleep.
The last two were found resting on their bed with a throw pillow or stuffed animal toy under their heads with no outwards sign of the COD. I hope I pass over so easily when the time comes.
They all lived a full life and were much loved.

I do worry about my Mau cat. He is around 21 years old now, still very active though showing his age now, the life span of this breed is said to be 24. When you have an animal that long you know his passing will be hard to take.

Condolences on your friend now at rest.
